Conseil national de recherches Canada The National Research Council Canada (NRC) is comprised of several research centres and institutes in a number of areas of expertise. The NRC also supports the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through its Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP).
Bureau de la traduction The Translation Bureau (TB) of Canada is one of the largest translation organizations in the world and the chief employer of language professionals in Canada. Since its creation in 1934, the TB has become the core of federal expertise in translation and linguistic services. In addition to over 75 years of services, the Translation Bureau of Canada plays a decisive role in terminological standardization within the Government of Canada. It offers the LTRC practical and essential experience in language professionals’ work. In this way, its work complements that of researchers.
Université du Québec en Outaouais The Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) makes many of its resources available to the LTRC (premises and computer network). UQO has taken the lead in obtaining the necessary funding to construct the building that houses the LTRC. The Fondation de l’UQO has also contributed financially to starting up the LTRC and continues to do so today. The Département d’études langagières helps the LTRC shed light on real problems that professors, students and language professionals have encountered when using specialized technologies.
